Happy New Year!

HAPPY 2017 yall!!

So this week has been pretty awesome! While walking to a lesson in a new part of our area, we ran into this big hole in the ground and found out that there were caves and they are man-made! A guy has been working on them for the last 8 years building them! Super cool! and then the same day we ended up making it to the ocean shore and had about 3 lessons right on the shore! Such a cool week! Then the weekend hit and all the Dominicans were partying and drinking so it was a little difficult to have lessons haha but very entertaining to watch!

So this morning in my study i was reading 2 Nefi 9.... What an amazing chapter talking about the Atonement! I want to challenge you all to read it this week and apply it to your lives!!! I love you all so much and I hope you have a great week!

Had a great week this week! We were able to eat in a bunch of members’ homes this week because this is the week that the Dominicans all eat like Kings! Then yesterday if got to talk with the fam! So fun to get to talk with them on skype and get caught up a little! Today we got to go play some basketball and it was so much fun! It’s been a long time since I have been able to play that hard! FELIZ NAVIDAD

This week was amazing! So we now have a new investigator and his name is Cesar.... This guy is not an ordinary Dominican... He has been SO prepared by the lord... So last week there were a couple elders that stayed in our house for the night and they got there early so they decided to go contact and they came back to us with his info and everything and so Monday we finally got around to visit him. So we were looking for his house, when we walked by this giant mansion (which never happens in the DR) and I said to my comp, hey look how big that is and we kept walking when all of a sudden I hear.. "Hey it’s me!" and we turned around and it was a guy standing in the doorway of the Mansion... I couldn’t believe it! So we entered in his house and began to get to know him and let’s just say he is very well off, but is extremely humble about it. He came to church this week and is progressing unbelievably fast!

Also this week we had a few activities with the ward! Friday we went to the park to sing carols and give out hot chocolate and then on Saturday, we had the Branch Christmas party and it was a huge success!! This week we are planning even more activities and things for our investigators and the members!! I hope you all have an amazing Christmas! Please send pictures of snow cuz I miss it!!! I KNOW HE LIVES AND GUIDES THIS CHURCH AND HE LOVEs YOU AND I....

All I can say is I LOVE THE MISSION..... and the days just keep getting better...

So Tuesday my new companion and I, arrived here in our new area... and it is HUGE. It also borders the Ocean! So we didn't know, anyone, or anything, so the first thing we did is go look for members, and we met this amazing family, who just got married and the wife just got baptized even though her husband has been a member for a long time... But that night, he showed us around our area and I am pretty sure we met every single person he knew haha... and it was ALOT... 

The rest of the week, we just spent, learning our area and talking to everyone! So we are in a Branch, and there are also the Zone Leaders that live and go to the same ward with us, and the President of the branch is an awesome man.. well pretty much all the members here are awesome and willing to help us out with references! Including Saturday when we had an activity and we had almost 50 people there! I am so excited to be here in this new area. I love the Dominicans... Only someone that has been here can understand what i mean... they are just Dominicans haha. Christmas is coming up fast and I am super excited to start another week, teaching the truth!

Goodbye Los Mina!

Well the title says it all! Tomorrow I will be leaving Los Mina and be heading The Campo! or for those of you who don't know, campo is country! I will be leaving the big city and heading East! and I will be getting a new comp! A gringo!! Elder Gililand! We will be opening up an old area and im so excited! I have had an amazing time here in los Mina, and I will miss so many people here! But, I know there are so many more people waiting for me in other places! 

I cant believe its december! Christmas and the new year are coming fast! and here that just means more reasons to have fiestas and drink! haha   But it also means that people want to come unto Christ and use his atonement and change their lives! I am so extremely grateful for my Savior, and everything he has done for me. The atonement is real, and through our faith and repentence, we are able to progress in our way towards him!!   I love you all so very much! Have a great week!

Happy Birthday! 11-28-16

First of all I have to give a big shout out to the man himself! MI PAPA! It is his birthday today, I wont tell you all how old he is, lets just say he's getting real old! haha

 

So we had a great week this week! Tuesday, like I mentioned last week, we had the amazing opportunity to attend the Temple as a mission! I walked in, and you guys wouldn't believe the first person I saw! ELDER CHADWICK! Wow what an amazing experience that was! It was the first time I had seen him in the Mission! We had a lot of catching up to do and it was so fun!  It was so great to be able to enter into the Lords House and feel of his wonderful spirit! 

Then  Thursday was obviously Thanksgiving! Here in the DR, they don't celebrate thanksgiving, but that didn't matter! As a zone, we got together and all brought food to share! It definitely wasn't the same as home but it was as good as it gets haha! 

 

Here in Los Mina, the work is picking up! We have been working hard with the members to get an activity set up, so that the members can bring their friends and we can watch the new Christmas videos from the church! We have organized it for Friday so we will see how it goes! 

Now that is the Christmas season, things in missionary work start to pick up. Not only here in the DR but all over the World! Don't be afraid to share your testimony about the real meaning of Christmas, and invite your friends to hear of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Time flies.... wow its Thanksgiving and I can’t believe it!

So this week we spent contacting and chasing our tail trying to return to the people we had contacted... Lots of walking and talking as usual! But we did find some amazing people! As they continue to progress i will keep you updated!

So Thursday night, we arrived at the house at about 915, and at 920, during our daily planning, the phone rings... I answered and said hello... and on the other side it was Kendall! The guy who was baptized about 2 months ago!  He greeted me and we caught up a little, until he said, Hey, there is someone here that wants to talk to you!  I was like ok... and all of a sudden I hear, Hello Elder! In English! I was confused haha he then explained that he was the dad of Kendall’s girlfriend! They are from Provo, and they are here visiting!    I totally forgot that they were going to come!    And he went on and told me how grateful he is for me and for what I have done for his future son in law! I was shocked and all I could say is, it wasn’t me. It was the lord preparing him, and he just put me in the right place at the right time!      And we continued to talk a little more but it was great to talk to him!  Guess what!   They got married on Saturday!  They did invite us but we were unable to go!

Anyways, I had a great week and this week is going to be even better cuz we will be going to the Temple tomorrow!

I know this is HIS Church and HIS work!
